The new BC series of Oleo-Mac and DS series of Efco professional brushcutters rank at the top of their category for their excellent power-to-weight ratio, ensuring optimal performance while maximizing operator comfort.
Bagnolo (Reggio Emilia), February 26, 2025 – Emak introduces the new BC series of Oleo-Mac and DS series of Efco professional brushcutters. Designed to meet the needs of demanding professionals and green space maintenance workers engaged in intense, prolonged tasks, these machines are built to handle the toughest working conditions, such as undergrowth maintenance and roadside clearing, particularly for cutting shrubs and brushwood.
The Oleo-Mac models BC 540 S, BC 540 T, BCF 540, and BC 540 MASTER, along with the Efco models DS 5400 S, DS 5400 T, DSF 5400, and DS 5400 BOSS, lead their category thanks to their outstanding power-to-weight ratio, allowing for optimal performance while ensuring maximum operator comfort. Several technical solutions have been introduced to reduce the machine’s weight, including magnesium components such as the engine housing, the use of innovative high-strength, low-density plastics, and a hollow drive shaft (outer diameter: 8 mm, inner diameter: 4 mm). The latter maintains performance levels thanks to a bushing system inside the transmission, allowing for prolonged work at maximum efficiency.
All models are equipped with Emak’s new 51.7 cm³ (3.3 HP / 2.4 kW) Euro 5 two-stroke engine, which guarantees high performance and maximum reliability. The "EasyStart" system reduces kickback thanks to a dual spring inside the starter housing, ensuring greater comfort.
With the AlwaysOn system, the on/off switch automatically returns to the ignition position after each shutdown, preventing the risk of engine flooding.
The machines also feature Primer and Choke controls for easier starting and a dual filtration system (paper and foam) that ensures excellent filtering capacity and long working autonomy. Every model comes with a professional 3-tooth blade specifically designed for undergrowth clearing and features anti-vibration systems that minimize vibrations felt by the operator, even during the most demanding tasks.
The backpack versions (Oleo-Mac BCF 540 and Efco DSF 5400) include a metal backpack frame with a storage pocket. The sturdy steel structure is designed for heavy-duty use and features a central bracket for complete backpack protection.
These backpack models stand out due to their special anti-vibration system with four rubber mounts, which isolate the engine and minimize vibrations transmitted to the operator's body, allowing for longer working sessions with reduced fatigue.
The T model (with handlebar grip) feature an anti-vibration system with a rubber insert on the transmission flange, effectively dampening vibrations felt by the operator during use.
The MASTER/BOSS models are equipped with a double anti-vibration system in the shaft. The handlebar attachment, with a magnesium support, is adjustable without tools, allowing the operator to adapt it to their height while also reducing bulk during transport.
The S (loop-handle), T, and MASTER/BOSS versions feature a stone guard with a minimalist yet highly functional design, providing greater visibility during cutting operations.
