Diversity and Inclusion

Embracing inclusivity, valuing people

At Emak, we promote an inclusive culture every day that welcomes and encourages every uniqueness, thus creating a place where people feel safe, respected and an integral part of a common project.

Among our commitments, gender equality plays a central role: we invest in initiatives and programmes to make our company culture increasingly inclusive, because we are convinced that diversity – of experiences, perspectives and skills – is an inexhaustible source of value and innovation for the company and for people.

A work culture based on respect

We are committed to ensuring a working environment that is safe, respectful and free from discrimination. Our Anti-Harassment Policy applies to all people who interact with the company – employees, consultants, suppliers, customers and visitors – and recognises their rights and responsibilities. The document is a solid basis for preventing and addressing inappropriate behaviour and is subject to periodic review.

Our certifications

At Emak we believe that gender equality is not just a value, but a concrete commitment. For this reason we have embarked on a structured process that is now recognised by two important certifications: IDEM Gender Equality 2024 and UNI/PdR 125:2022.

IDEM Gender Equality 2024

Obtained on 7 May 2024, this certification recognises companies that adopt tangible policies for ensuring gender equality and a healthy work-life balance. The IDEM Index, its scientific and data-driven measurement system, evaluates four fundamental areas: career, remuneration, organisation and culture.

UNI/PdR 125:2022 Certification

This was awarded to us on 8 April 2025 and recognises our concrete commitment to promoting gender equality, by evaluating our strategies, processes and results in six key areas: inclusive corporate culture, equitable governance, HR policies and training, growth opportunities, pay equity, parenting and work-life balance.

Building respect and inclusion, word by word

We have adopted an inclusive language that puts people at the centre, counters stereotypes and promotes respectful relationships. We have formalised it in a policy, shared with all staff, that collates examples and practical recommendations for promoting non-discriminatory communication and an increasingly welcoming work environment in which each individual feels valued.

The value of people

We adopt fair and inclusive selection that places attention on valuing every talent, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or other personal characteristics. Our guidelines help to avoid stereotypes and prejudices, ensuring equal opportunities and respect for all people. If you share these values and want to be part of our business, we invite you to learn more here.

Diversity and equal opportunities

In our Non-Financial Information Statement we offer a transparent report of our environmental and social impact, highlighting our concrete commitment to enhancing diversity and promoting equal opportunities, in line with the principles of sustainable development.

Steering Committee for Gender Equality

The Steering Committee for Gender Equality – appointed by Luigi Bartoli, CEO of Emak Spa – is responsible for implementing the strategic plan required by the UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification. Coordinated by Genziana Gaibazzi (Global Operations and Sales HR Manager), it includes Luigi Bartoli (Chief Executive Officer), Guido Ghinazzi (HR and Organisation Director) and Giulia Ferretti (Quality Assurance and Process Development Manager).

Beyond the brand: inspire, include, build community

Events

Loose Cannons and they are words or these are just words

We are proud to have supported "Mine Vaganti, e sono parole” (Floating Mines, and they are words), the event promoted by cultural circle Primo Piano and dedicated to conscious communication and the value of words in building inclusive and respectful relationships, both online and offline. Sociolinguist, writer and journalist Vera Gheno led a lucid and stimulating reflection that was perfectly in tune with our commitment to promoting a more inclusive company culture.

The Women's Race: Between Stress and Freedom, Flexibly

It was with great pleasure that we contributed to the event "La corsa delle Donne tra stress e libertà, elasticamente” (Women's race between stress and freedom, elastically), which was organised with the support of the municipal authority of Correggio. This intense and ironic discussion focused on the duel race that women run between everyday challenges and collective struggle. It was hosted by journalist, radio host and writer Claudia de Lillo, known as Elasti.
