The new versions expand operating possibilities while preserving the features that have made the GST 250 / MT 2500 chainsaws benchmark models in their segment: maneuverability, light weight and power.
Bagnolo in Piano (Reggio Emilia), November 26, 2025 – Emak expands its offering in the compact chainsaw segment with the new Oleo-Mac GST 250 R and Efco MT 2500 R, an evolution of models already at the top of their class for maneuverability, lightness and power. The introduction of the new rear handle marks a significant step forward in terms of ergonomics and versatility, making these machines even more multifunctional and high-performing. Designed to meet the needs of professionals and green maintenance operators, the new versions stand out for their ability to combine cutting precision with operational stability, making them ideal not only for pruning, but also for sectioning operations and small felling jobs.
Two bar configurations are available: a 25 cm (10”) carving bar with sprocket nose and 1/4” x .043” chain, designed to ensure maximum precision in detailed cutting operations, and a 30 cm (12”) bar with sprocket nose and 3/8” x .050” chain, ideal for increasing cutting capacity and tackling larger-diameter branches with greater speed and efficiency.
The professional 25.4 cm³ two-stroke engine, delivering 1.3 HP (1 kW), ensures high cutting performance combined with outstanding responsiveness, maintaining an optimal balance between lightness and driving force. The compact size and high cutting speed make the GST 250 R and MT 2500 R ideal tools for limbing, green maintenance, and work on fruit trees and olive trees.
Among the most innovative technical solutions is the “OnBoard” clutch, with drum and brake band integrated into the crankcase: a system that prevents the ingress of debris, ensures consistent operation over time, and simplifies routine maintenance thanks to quick removal of the chain cover.
The automatic aluminum gear-type oil pump, driven by the clutch drum, provides zero flow at idle speed, reducing consumption and improving efficiency. The large nylon air filter, combined with a labyrinth pre-filtration system, ensures excellent engine protection even in dusty environments, maintaining high performance over time.
From an ergonomic standpoint, the chainsaws feature solutions designed to enhance comfort and daily productivity: the “AlwaysOn” switch allows quick shutdown and, thanks to its automatic return, is always ready for starting, while the “EasyLift” oil and fuel caps ensure practical and safe access to the refueling areas. The ergonomic, foldable top handle, which can be closed without tools, further optimizes the user experience.
